VC University Of Uyo Urge Tinubu To Release Withheld Salaries For Lecturers

 

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Uyo, Prof. Nyaudoh Ndaeyo, has made an appeal to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to release all the withheld salaries for university lecturers. 
While expressing gratitude for the release of four out of the eight months’ salaries during the combined convocation ceremony, Ndaeyo highlighted the positive impact on staff morale.
He urged President Tinubu to consider increasing annual budgetary allocations to the education sector, especially for universities, citing the challenges posed by the growing student population.
Chancellor Alh. Abubakar Adamu Maje encouraged graduands to be innovative, emphasizing the need for resourcefulness in a competitive job market.
The ceremony saw 14,866 graduates receiving various degrees for the combined sessions of 2017/2018, 2018/2019,2019/2020 at undergraduate and postgraduate levels with three individuals recognized for their significant contributions to humanity through honorary degrees.
Mr Udom Inoyo, was conferred with a Doctorate degree in law, Senator Daisy Danjuma received a Doctorate degree in Political Diplomacy and Vincent Enyeama, received a Doctorate degree of Philosophy in Human Kinetics and Physical Education with focus on football.
The chancellor who is also the Emir of Hadejia and Chairman, Jigawa State Council of Chiefs, called on Nigerians to support President Tinubu’s led administration especially in its efforts to transform the country.
