Two people were shot and six others injured early Friday during Halloween celebrations in downtown Orlando, Florida, according to authorities.

The incident occurred around 1 a.m., and a 17-year-old suspect has been taken into custody, police said. The victims, whose ages range from 19 to 39, are receiving medical attention.

Approximately 100 officers were on duty in the downtown area at the time of the shooting, police reported. No information on a possible motive has been released.
