President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of three former members of the National Assembly Abdulrazak Sa’ad Namdas, Patrick Obahiagbon, and Chukwuma Umeoji—to key positions in the Border Communities Development Agency and the Niger Delta Power Holding Company.
The appointments, which take immediate effect, were announced in a statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
Under the new appointments, Namdas assumes office as Director-General of the Border Communities Development Agency, succeeding Dakorinama Alabo George, who resigned to pursue an elective office in his home state.
A former member of the House of Representatives who represented Ganye/Jada/Mayo Belwa/Toungo Federal Constituency of Adamawa State, Namdas served as spokesperson of the 8th House of Representatives. Before joining politics, he built a career in journalism and public relations and also served as Chief Press Secretary to former Adamawa State Governor Boni Haruna.
President Tinubu also appointed Obahiagbon as Executive Director, Strategy and Commercial, of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company, replacing Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama, who resigned to pursue his political ambition.
Obahiagbon previously served in both the Edo State House of Assembly and the House of Representatives.
In addition, Tinubu reappointed Umeoji as Executive Director, Corporate Services, of the NDPHC after he earlier resigned from the same position to contest for political office in Anambra State.
Umeoji represented Aguata Federal Constituency of Anambra State in the 9th House of Representatives before his initial appointment to the power company.
