President Bola Tinubu has inaugurated the planning committee for the National Youth Conference, emphasizing the crucial role of young Nigerians in shaping the country’s future.
Speaking at the inauguration in Abuja on Monday, Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to youth empowerment and national development.
“Look at me in the face, tell me whatever you think. If it’s wrong and the way it’s done or suggestions, we will try to implement all of it as long as it is for the prosperity of this country,” he said, assuring that recommendations from the conference would be taken seriously.
Describing Nigerian youth as the “hope of this country,” the president reiterated that his policies are designed to secure their future.
“Everything ends in your podium. Every decision that I have taken is about you, about tomorrow,” Tinubu said.
Addressing the issue of migration among young professionals, he stressed the importance of creating opportunities within Nigeria.
“This is your home to develop, build, and be prosperous,” he stated, adding that politics should be about development and future generations.
Reflecting on Nigeria’s economic situation, Tinubu acknowledged past struggles but expressed optimism about ongoing improvements.
“When we started, it was like drawing water from a dry well. But today, the economy is turning the corner. Prices are falling, confidence in our economy is improving, and investors are looking in,” he said.
The president urged young Nigerians to harness opportunities in technology and innovation, assuring them of his administration’s commitment to fostering an environment where they can thrive.
