The Federal Bureau of Prisons announced Monday that music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs is scheduled for release on May 8, 2028, following his conviction on two prostitution-related charges earlier this year.
The release date means Combs will serve a little over three years behind bars, taking into account the time he has already spent in custody prior to and during his trial.
Earlier this month, a federal judge sentenced the 54-year-old producer and entrepreneur to 50 months in prison after an eight-week trial concluded in July. A jury convicted him on the lesser charges but acquitted him of sex trafficking and racketeering counts.
Combs has pleaded not guilty and continues to maintain his innocence. His legal team has already filed notice of an appeal with the Federal District Court in New York, seeking to overturn both the conviction and the sentence.
For now, the former Bad Boy Records founder remains in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, where he has been held since his conviction.
The case marks a dramatic fall for Combs, once one of the most influential figures in the global music industry, whose legacy has been overshadowed by mounting legal troubles and the criminal proceedings that have followed.
