PDP Faction Fixes ₦100m Form, Announces 2027 Timetable

A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) aligned with Seyi Makinde has released its timetable and schedule of activities for the 2027 general elections, alongside the cost of nomination forms for aspirants.

In a statement by party spokesperson Ini Ememobong, the timetable was approved by the National Executive Committee (NEC) following the inauguration of a 13-member interim National Working Committee led by Kabiru Tanimu Turaki.

According to the schedule, the presidential expression of interest and nomination forms have been pegged at ₦100 million. Governorship forms are set at ₦40 million, Senate at ₦10 million, House of Representatives at ₦7 million, and State House of Assembly at ₦2 million.

The party said female aspirants will only pay for expression of interest forms, while youths and persons living with disabilities will receive a 50 percent discount on nomination forms.

Sales of forms will run from May 5 to May 13, with submission closing on May 14. Screening of aspirants is scheduled for May 15 to May 18, while appeals will be heard on May 21. The list of cleared candidates will be published on May 22.

Ward congresses and primaries are slated for May 27, followed by appeals on May 28. The NEC is expected to approve nominated candidates on May 29, while a special convention for ratification will hold on May 30.

The faction also confirmed that party registers must be submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) by May 7.

INEC has fixed January 16, 2027, for presidential and National Assembly elections, while governorship and State Assembly polls will hold on February 6, 2027.

The development comes amid internal divisions within the PDP, with another faction linked to Nyesom Wike earlier releasing a separate timetable with different nomination fees, underscoring the party’s ongoing leadership crisis ahead of the elections.
