Nollywood luminary John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu, has passed away.

Reportedly, Okafor died on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at a hospital after battling health issues. Fans took to social media to mourn his demise, as he had faced health challenges resulting in the amputation of one of his legs.

In October 2023, Okafor fell ill and required financial assistance. By November 2023, his family disclosed that his leg had been amputated due to an undetected artery infection. The Actor Guild of Nigeria (AGN) confirmed his passing, with President Emeka Rollas announcing that the comedian had died from cardiac arrest, as stated by his manager, Don Single Nwuzor.
