No Politician with a Conscience Would Join APC – Tambuwal

Former Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, has declared that no politician with a conscience would consider joining the All Progressives Congress (APC), citing the ruling party’s policies and economic management.

Tambuwal made the statement on Saturday in Kaduna after the North-West zonal National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The former Speaker of the House of Representatives criticized the APC-led administration, arguing that the country’s current economic challenges make the party unattractive.

“People leave parties for different reasons, but what I have observed is that defections are not based on the interest of the people but on stomach infrastructure,” he said.

“If you are talking about defecting in the interest of the people, I believe no one can go to the APC. If you are a politician with a conscience, given the current policies of the APC government, you won’t consider joining them.”

Tambuwal blamed the APC for the country’s economic hardship, stating that the Tinubu-led administration has performed poorly.

“The current economic doldrums caused by the APC have driven Nigerians into hardship across the country. With the dismal performance of this administration, there is nothing attractive outside stomach infrastructure,” he added.

He called on politicians who believe in the country’s progress to unite and work towards removing the APC from power in 2027.

“It is for all of us who believe in this country, who believe in serving the people, to come together and ensure that by 2027, we ease out this administration that lacks focus, compassion, and direction.”
