Newborn Pulled Alive From Venezuela Earthquake Rubble After 32 Hours

A newborn baby has been rescued alive after spending 32 hours trapped beneath the rubble of a collapsed building following the devastating twin earthquakes that struck Venezuela.
Videos shared on social media showed rescuers in La Guaira pulling the infant from the debris under floodlights before carefully passing the baby to safety. According to Andreina Quintero, who posted the footage, the baby was just 18 days old and appeared uninjured.
The child’s mother was rescued about an hour later. A follow-up video from the hospital showed medical staff telling her that the baby had no visible injuries, suggesting she may have protected the infant with her body during the collapse.
The twin earthquakes, measuring 7.2 and 7.5, have killed at least 920 people, with thousands more injured or still missing.
The United Nations estimates that up to 6.76 million people, including around two million in Caracas, may have been affected by the disaster, which left widespread destruction across La Guaira and surrounding areas.
