Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to working closely with journalists to drive progress in the state. The governor made this assurance during the grand finale of the 2024 Press Week, organized by the Correspondents Chapel of the Kwara State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Ilorin.
Governor AbdulRazaq, represented by his Senior Special Adviser, Alhaji Saadu Salahu, highlighted his administration’s efforts to revive state-owned media institutions. He recounted how The Herald Newspaper, Radio Kwara, and Kwara Television Service, which were in poor condition before he took office in 2019, have been restored to operational efficiency under his leadership.
Also speaking at the event, Sheikh Abdulkadir Solagberu, the Malami Ubandoma of Ilorin, urged journalists to focus on promoting positive values and encouraging youth re-orientation through their work.
