Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris has named Hajiya Aisha Usman as the acting head of civil service following the retirement of Safiyanu Garba, who stepped down at the age of 60. Prior to this appointment, Hajiya Usman served as the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning.

The official handover ceremony took place at the Cabinet Office in Birnin Kebbi, where the outgoing head of service expressed confidence in a smooth transition. He highlighted that Usman’s appointment, as the most senior permanent secretary, aligns with civil service regulations and received the governor’s approval.

In her new role, Hajiya Aisha Usman expressed her gratitude for the trust placed in her and her determination to build on her predecessor’s legacy while ensuring the civil service continues to progress. Despite having only a few months left before her own retirement, she emphasized her commitment to working diligently and called for the cooperation of all civil servants and the media.
