APC Reaffirms Monday Okpebholo’s Candidacy Amid Fake Disqualification Ruling

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has confirmed that Monday Okpebholo remains its candidate in the ongoing Edo State governorship election. Felix Morka, the APC national publicity secretary, made this clear in a statement released in Abuja, following circulating fake news claiming that a magistrate court had disqualified Mr. Okpebholo.

Morka described the disqualification rumor as a deliberate attempt by opposing political parties to spread disinformation. “Certain political parties, facing defeat, have resorted to forgery and falsehood, including the fabrication of a fake court ruling purporting to disqualify Sen. Okpebholo,” he stated.

He clarified that the magistrate in question had issued a disclaimer, confirming the ruling did not come from him. Morka added that the false ruling was an intentional act to create doubt about the APC candidate and undermine the will of Edo voters.

The APC has called on law enforcement to investigate and bring those responsible for the disinformation to justice. Morka urged voters in Edo State to remain vigilant and exercise their democratic rights, ignoring the distractions from opposing candidates and parties. He reaffirmed that “Sen. Monday Okpebholo is and remains the standard bearer of the APC in the Edo gubernatorial election.”
