Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), debunking rumors suggesting his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The rumors emerged after a flex banner featuring his image, implying his move to the APC, surfaced on social media. The governor, through a statement released by his director of press and public affairs, Mr. Gyang Bere, clarified that the banner had been spotted in Edo State for reasons that remain unclear.
Describing the rumor as orchestrated falsehood, Mutfwang stated that it was a deliberate attempt by certain mischief-makers to cause division between him, the PDP leadership, and his supporters. “Although this baseless rumor does not deserve a formal response, it has become necessary to correct any misconceptions that could mislead the public and protect the Governor’s integrity,” the statement read.
Mutfwang emphasized that he never considered leaving the PDP for the APC and has not discussed switching political parties with anyone, firmly dispelling the claims.
