The cause of the collapse, which occurred in Uthiru, situated northwest of the city centre, remains unknown, stated Bramwel Simiyu, Nairobi’s chief officer for disaster management.
“At 10:00 pm (1900 GMT), all families except four persons have been located,” Simiyu reported. “The four missing persons include a nanny and two children from one household, as well as a 10-year-old girl from another residence.” He further announced that detailed investigations would commence on Wednesday to ascertain the cause of the tragedy.
