FG  Reaffirms Commitment to Socioeconomic Development and National Welfare

The Federal Government has reiterated its dedication to tackling Nigeria’s socioeconomic challenges and developing strategies to address emerging threats to national welfare. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, Minister of State for Labour and Employment, made this reaffirmation during a town hall meeting organized by the ministry in Abuja.

Onyejeocha praised the leadership of President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, and other key officials for their efforts in advancing the ‘Renewed Hope’ agenda. She emphasized the administration’s commitment to economic reform, inclusive growth, and improved security.

“The government remains steadfast in its promise to Nigerians,” Onyejeocha declared. “We are committed to restoring Nigeria’s economic prominence, addressing socioeconomic issues directly, and providing solutions to emerging threats.”

She highlighted the government’s collaborative approach with stakeholders, including policymakers, employers, and workers, to drive national development. The Ministry of Labour and Employment focuses on ensuring decent work conditions, maintaining industrial peace, and fostering growth.

Onyejeocha outlined the eight pillars of the ‘Renewed Hope’ agenda: job creation, education, healthcare, food security, and social investments. She assured Nigerians of the government’s determination to address the country’s socioeconomic issues and respond to new challenges.

The town hall meeting aimed to raise awareness among labour leaders, employers, and civil society organizations, mobilize support for the ‘Renewed Hope’ agenda, and encourage cooperative relations between labour and the government.

Onyejeocha expressed confidence in the ability of experts to develop and implement effective strategies. She thanked President Tinubu for his leadership and vision and appreciated the active participation of stakeholders. At the event, Olayemi Cardoso, Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), represented by Mr. Omolola Adegbenga, Head of Pensions at the CBN, expressed optimism about Nigeria’s economic future.
