Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Olayemi Cardoso, will head Nigeria’s delegation to the 2025 World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF) Annual Meetings, which are set to open today, October 13, in Washington, D.C.
A statement released on Sunday by Presidential Spokesperson Bayo Onanuga said Cardoso will serve as Nigeria’s alternate Governor at the meetings, representing the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, who is currently indisposed.
The delegation will also include the Minister of State for Finance, Doris Uzoka-Anite.
According to the World Bank, key sessions will include the Development Committee Plenary on October 16 and the International Monetary and Financial Committee Meetings on October 17.
Other major activities during the week-long gathering will feature regional briefings, press conferences, and policy forums focusing on international development, the global economy, and financial markets.
