Arsenal Soars to Top of Premier League with Convincing Victory Over Brighton

Arsenal ascended to the summit of the Premier League with a dominant 3-0 win over Brighton, showcasing their title credentials with a polished performance at the Amex Stadium on Saturday.
Goals from Bukayo Saka, Kai Havertz, and Leandro Trossard propelled Mikel Arteta’s side to the top of the table, one point ahead of contenders Liverpool and Manchester City, who are set to face off on Sunday.
Saka broke the deadlock from the penalty spot after Tariq Lamptey fouled Gabriel Jesus in the box, with the England international calmly slotting home for his 17th goal of the season.
Havertz doubled Arsenal’s lead with a neat finish at the near post, courtesy of Jorginho’s assist.
Leandro Trossard, coming off the bench, sealed the victory with a composed chip over Brighton goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen in the dying minutes of the game, haunting his former club in the process.
Arsenal’s defensive solidity was once again on display as they secured their fifth consecutive clean sheet away from home in the Premier League.
Brighton, who had been unbeaten at home in 14 games, failed to trouble Arsenal’s resolute defense, with Julio Enciso’s curling effort the closest they came to a response.
The Gunners’ impressive run of form, winning 10 of their last 11 league games, has propelled them into contention for their first Premier League title in 20 years.
With Arteta’s men displaying consistency and maturity, they are firmly in the race for domestic glory.
As Arsenal prepare for a crucial Champions League quarter-final clash against Bayern Munich, Arteta was able to rotate his squad and rest key players, including Saka, who was substituted just after the hour mark.
Meanwhile, the pressure is on Liverpool to respond to Arsenal’s title challenge when they take on Manchester United, seeking redemption after they were beaten 4-3 by United in a thrilling FA Cup quarter-final just three weeks ago.
