All Eyes On Lagos Governorship Election Tribunal As They Deliver Judgment Today

As the Lagos State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal prepares to issue its judgment in the lawsuits contesting the election of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, political gladiators are under tension.
The Justice Arum Ashom-led panel communicated this message to all parties on Saturday.
Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party and Olajide Adediran, a.k.a. Jandor, a candidate for governor from the Peoples Democratic Party, are contesting Sanwo-Olu’s victory in the March 18 governorship election.
The petitioners’ attorneys adopted their final written submissions to the tribunal on August 12.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared Sanwo-Olu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) winner of the March 18 governorship election.
The incumbent Lagos State governor had won the election by a landslide, defeating Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party, who came second.
Governor Sanwo-Olu polled 762,134 votes to beat Rhodes-Vivour, who scored 312,329 votes. Jide Adediran (Jandor) of the PDP came a distant third, polling 62,449 votes.
