Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, and the national leadership of the Accord Party have endorsed President Bola Tinubu as the party’s presidential candidate for the 2027 general election.

The endorsement followed a meeting held on Saturday night in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, between the governor and the party’s national leadership.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Adeleke’s re-election campaign spokesperson, Pelumi Olajengbesi, said the meeting focused on key issues affecting the party and its political direction ahead of future elections.

According to Olajengbesi, the party’s leadership said it was important for the Tinubu administration to complete ongoing infrastructure projects across the country, including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and the Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway.

The meeting also reviewed preparations for the upcoming Osun governorship election, with the Accord Party leadership warning against violence, voter intimidation, electoral manipulation and the alleged use of security agencies against its members in the state.

Olajengbesi said those present at the meeting included the party’s National Chairman, Maxwell Mgbudem; Deputy National Chairman, Maryam Sale; National Secretary, Ajaja Abiola Adebukola; National Treasurer, Abdulazeez Oyeniyi Salaudeen; National Organising Secretary, Ibe Thankgod; and National Publicity Secretary, Omorogbe Joseph, among other national officers.
