Navy Declares 5 Missing Sailors Dead After Helicopter Crash, Shifts To Recovery Operations

The U.S. Navy declared five missing sailors dead Saturday after they disappeared in a helicopter crash off the coast of California on Tuesday.

Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Mike Gilday released the following statement confirming their deaths and signaling that the focus of the search and rescue operation has now shifted to recovery.
