Zamfara Govt. Rules Out Negotiation With Bandits

Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has reiterated that his administration will not negotiate with bandits, insisting that military operations against criminal groups will continue until peace is restored across the state.

Lawal, represented by his Chief of Staff, Mukhtar Musa, made the declaration on Sunday during the inauguration of the secretariat of the Association of Zamfara State Indigenes Residing in Kaduna.

“The governor will never negotiate with bandits. Those willing to surrender should do so or face the law,” Musa said.

He said the state government would continue to support security agencies by providing logistics, equipment, ammunition and other operational resources to strengthen ongoing operations against banditry.

According to him, the sustained military offensive will continue until lasting peace is achieved in Zamfara.

Musa also urged residents to support security agencies with credible intelligence, noting that timely information from communities remains crucial to tackling insecurity.

The governor’s representative further announced a donation of N5 million by the Zamfara State Government to support the activities of the association.
