No Resignation: ADC Dismisses Mark Exit Claim

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has dismissed reports claiming that Senator David Mark stepped down as its National Chairman, describing the allegation as false and misleading.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the National Chairman’s Media Office said the report was a fabrication aimed at creating confusion within the party.

It maintained that Mark remains the substantive National Chairman, stressing that no discussion or decision regarding his resignation has taken place.

The statement described the claim as “an insidious fabrication” allegedly spread by “puerile, weak, and inconsiderate propagandists.”

“The assertion that Senator David Mark has stepped down exists only in the warped imagination of those bent on spreading falsehood and creating confusion within our party,” the statement read.

The media office added that the ADC leadership remains united and focused on strengthening democratic values while positioning itself as a credible alternative platform for governance.

It also warned against attempts to destabilise the party, linking such actions to concerns over its growing political relevance ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“The ADC, its leadership, and the majority of Nigerians are unbending in their collective determination to resist any plot aimed at undermining Nigeria’s multi-party democracy or imposing a one-party system,” the statement added.

The party urged Nigerians to disregard the reports, expressing confidence in its leadership and internal stability.
