Wike Unveils Majority FM in Rivers as Tinubu Eyes 2027

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has established a new radio station, Majority FM 89.5, to support the re-election campaign of President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general election.

The radio station is located within the Renewed Hope Ambassadors’ office in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and comes amid intensified political mobilisation for President Tinubu’s second-term bid in the South-South region.

In a video circulating online, Wike was seen inspecting the newly launched facility, moving through the studio and engaging with staff. Sources said the station is designed to serve as a strategic communication platform for the Renewed Hope movement, a group closely aligned with Tinubu’s administration.

During the commissioning, Wike said the station would amplify political messages across Rivers State.
“This will take messages from all over the 666 units of Rivers State. We are ready for this job, we are ready for 2027,” he said.

Political observers say the establishment of Majority FM further underscores Wike’s growing influence in Rivers State’s political landscape as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum.

As of press time, neither Wike nor the Renewed Hope Ambassadors had issued an official statement detailing the operational direction of the radio station.
