APC Denies Viral Congress Timetable, Calls It Fake

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has distanced itself from a viral post circulating on social media that purportedly outlined a schedule of activities for its upcoming congresses.

The post, widely shared over the weekend, claimed to contain details of the APC’s ward, local government, state, and national congresses including alleged costs of nomination forms and a proposed date for the party’s national convention.

However, in a statement issued on Sunday, the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, dismissed the timetable as “fake news” and urged Nigerians to disregard it.

“The attention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been drawn to the so-called ‘APC 2025 SCHEDULE OF NATIONWIDE CONGRESSES AND RELATED ACTIVITIES’ widely circulating on social media,” the statement read. “Our great party wishes to clarify that the purported schedule of activities for congresses was neither made nor authorized by the party and should be disregarded as fake news.”

While speculation continues that the ruling party may hold its national convention before the end of 2025 to elect new members of the National Working Committee (NWC) ahead of the 2027 general elections, the APC has yet to make any official announcement on the matter.
