Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, says his administration has delivered 85 percent of its campaign promises, with only 15 percent remaining as he enters the second half of his tenure.
Speaking on Thursday during the swearing-in ceremony of key appointees including his new Chief of Staff, Sulaiman Wali Sani, the Director General of Special Services, Major General Sani Muhammad (rtd), and 11 Special Advisers Yusuf said the figure was based on an internal performance review conducted last week.
“Last week, I looked at our polling points and all the promises we made. Two years down, we’ve executed 85%. So we only have 15% left to deliver, and we still have two more years to do that,” he said.
Yusuf noted that the State Executive Council was currently reviewing outstanding tasks and crafting strategies to complete them.
“We are not slowing down. We are rolling out new programmes and initiatives that, by Allah’s grace, will further improve the lives of our people.”
He urged the newly appointed officials to uphold the values of transparency, accountability, and open communication.
“If there’s a problem, come forward and say it. Don’t go behind the scenes investigating because if you do, you’re investigating yourself,” he warned.
The governor also emphasized the responsible management of public funds.
“You must ensure transparency and the prudent use of public resources. The world is watching. You can’t afford to cross the line.”
Governor Yusuf said the appointees were chosen based on personal trust and proven relationships, expressing full confidence in their capabilities.
The appointments signal a strategic shift as the administration focuses on consolidating its achievements and delivering remaining projects across Kano State.
