Rivers State Governor, Siminialayi Fubara, has rejected accusations made by the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Chief Tony Okocha.
Okocha had alleged that Governor Fubara was interfering in APC affairs by sponsoring court cases against the party. He also questioned why Fubara, who he claimed is not a member of any political party, was not using his influence to benefit the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which he supposedly belongs to.
Fubara’s Special Adviser on Electronic Media, Jerry Omatsogunwa, responded to these claims, asserting that the governor is focused on governing the state and has no involvement in APC matters. Omatsogunwa also refuted Okocha’s assertions about Fubara’s party affiliation, reaffirming that the governor is a member of the PDP and an active participant in the PDP Governors’ Forum.
In addressing Okocha’s comments about the governor’s party membership and political ambitions, Omatsogunwa made it clear that Fubara remains firmly within the PDP and has no intention of aligning with any other party.
