President Bola Tinubu has called on civil servants to prioritize national progress and place the nation’s interests above all else.
Speaking at a valedictory session on Monday at the State House in Abuja, he honored the outgoing Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Dr. Folashade Yemi-Esan, praising her exemplary service.
President Tinubu commended Dr. Yemi-Esan’s tenure, citing her loyalty, dedication, and visionary leadership as benchmarks for public officeholders. “Her commitment to duty, loyalty, and vision should be a lesson for all,” he emphasized, encouraging others in public service to follow her example.
He also expressed gratitude for Dr. Yemi-Esan’s exceptional leadership, noting her role in transforming and reforming the Civil Service with transparency and professionalism. In her farewell address, Dr. Yemi-Esan reinforced the president’s call for prioritizing national interests over personal gain.
Additionally, President Tinubu swore in Didi Esther Walson-Jack as the new Head of the Civil Service of the Federation. The ceremony took place at the Council Chambers of the State House before the Federal Executive Council meeting. Mrs. Walson-Jack, a federal permanent secretary since 2017, succeeds Dr. Yemi-Esan following her planned retirement on August 13, 2024.
