President Bola Tinubu will depart Lagos for Pretoria, South Africa, to attend the inauguration of President Cyril Ramaphosa today, June 18.
According to a statement by Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Tinubu will return to Nigeria after the ceremony.
President Tinubu had earlier extended his congratulations to Ramaphosa on his re-election.
The inauguration follows Ramaphosa’s re-election for a second term, achieved through a coalition deal between the governing African National Congress (ANC) and opposition parties. The new administration includes the ANC, the Democratic Alliance (DA), and other political parties, reflecting a significant shift in South African politics after the ANC’s 30-year dominance since the end of apartheid.
