Bandit Assault On Military Camp Sparks Panic As Residents Flee In Katsina

A military camp in Nahuta village, Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina state, fell under attack by heavily armed bandits. 
The assailants, wielding AK-47 rifles, targeted the military personnel on guard around 11:30 pm on Sunday.
While the security forces successfully repelled the bandits, the attackers managed to set military vehicles ablaze and cause damage to other properties. In a coordinated move, some bandits invaded Nahuta town, looting shops and homes, making away with valuables and domestic animals worth millions of naira.
The incident has instilled fear and tension in the area, prompting residents to desert their communities amid concerns of further attacks. A military source indicated that over 100 terrorists were involved in the assault, burning two military vehicles.
Residents of Nahuta were seen fleeing the community, seeking refuge in nearby areas such as Batsari town and Wagini village, perceived as relatively safe.
Authorities, including the Katsina State police spokesman, ASP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, and the spokesman of the 17 Brigade Nigeria Army in Katsina, Oliza Ethinlaiye, are yet to provide comments on the incident as at the time of filing this report.
