13 governors and PDP supporters are reportedly reaching out to Atiku to resolve the situation, according to information Vanguard got on Saturday in Abuja.
While some are asking for Okowa to be replaced others are demanding a reconciliation which would make Atiku reach out to Rivers state governor Nyesom Wike.
On the other hand, Atiku stated in a tweet posted on Saturday using his verified Twitter account @Atiku: “Getting this country back on track will require all hands on deck.
“And I am excited to go on this journey with my vice-presidential candidate, H.E Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa @AIOkowa.
“Let’s come together as ONE towards a brighter future for all and one Nigeria.”
He then included a video of Okowa speaking to Nigerians.
In the video, Okowa describes himself as an unrelenting optimist who is prepared to combat the nation’s widespread insecurity.
Okowa said: “For me, being on the ticket with Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, is an opportunity to play a role in resetting the trajectory of Nigeria back to the path of growth, peace, and prosperity.”
