Amaju Pinnick, the President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has been appointed to the Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) working group.
The NFF president is already a member of the international football governing body’s council, according to Naija News.
The appointment was made known in a letter dated April 11 by the General Secretary of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Véron Mosengo-Omba, according to a statement released by the NFF’s spokesman, Ademola Olajire.
Pinnick was nominated by CAF President Dr. Joseph Motsepe to join the newly formed Working Group on Normalisation Committees, according to Olajire.
“This joint working group, to be led by FIFA, will analyze the applicable legal framework and the governance structure, mandate, and mission of normalization committees, and make suggestions to the FIFA Council accordingly.
“We are confident that your nomination to this working group will positively contribute to the pertinent, and often essential, the role played by Normalisation Committees in support of federations and towards the fulfillment of good governance practices,” Mosengo-Omba was quoted as saying in the letter.
