First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has said President Bola Tinubu’s administration will shift from economic reforms to prosperity if re-elected in 2027, urging Nigerians to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) for a second term.
She spoke on Saturday at the APC North-Central Mega Rally in Lafia, Nasarawa State, organised to mobilise support for the re-election of the President and Vice-President Kashim Shettima.
The First Lady urged party members to intensify grassroots mobilisation and support APC candidates at all levels, arguing that continuity would help consolidate the administration’s reforms and development programmes.
“President Tinubu is a man who believes in the unity, security and prosperity of our nation,” she said.
Referring to the President’s Independence Day message, titled “From Reforms to Prosperity,” she said the economy was stabilising, investors were returning and farmers were benefiting, while governors were undertaking infrastructure projects across the country.
“I have been in the Senate for 12 years. This is the best time I will see the government fixing roads and building a lot of infrastructure,” she said.
Tinubu also highlighted the government’s food bank programme, which she said supports children, pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers with nutritious food, while providing assistance for malnourished children.
She added that students were benefiting from the administration’s education funding initiatives.
Describing the President as a leader willing to take difficult decisions, the First Lady expressed confidence that his policies would strengthen the economy, improve security and support national development.
She said the APC women’s wing had aligned its campaign around a common message, adding that the party would focus on communicating its policies without hate speech or actions capable of threatening national unity.
“Therefore, vote for continuity, vote for capacity, vote for prosperity, and vote for the re-election of Mr President and all the candidates of APC from top to bottom,” she said.
The rally was hosted by Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule, with governors and other political leaders from the North-Central region in attendance.
