Nollywood actor and producer Zubby Michael has declared his intention to contest for a seat in Nigeria’s House of Representatives.

He made the announcement on his X page, alongside a video showing him formally joining the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

In the video, the actor is seen receiving his party membership form and stating that he is moving from online commentary to active political participation.

“I dey my village, enough of the talking online, I don involve. House of Reps, Zubby Michael is coming. ADC is the party,” he wrote.

Zubby Michael, who previously had his first involvement in politics in 2019 when he served as Special Adviser on Media to former Anambra State Governor Willie Obiano, is understood to be eyeing the Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo federal constituency of Anambra State in the next general election.
