Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), disclosed the apprehension of individuals providing information to kidnappers during a town hall meeting in Gwagwalada Area Council.
Wike emphasized the government’s commitment to eradicating kidnappers, bandits, and their collaborators in the FCT.
He stated, “The President has asked me to assure you that he will not abandon you. So, all these criminals, be ready. Your time is up. If I say I will do something, I will do it.” Wike warned informants and criminals of imminent consequences, asserting that security agencies would ensure their removal from Gwagwalada.
Wike declared, “Some of the people giving them information, we have arrested them. If they haven’t arrested you, it doesn’t mean we won’t arrest you tomorrow or even before we leave this place.”
This development follows increased kidnapping incidents and insecurity affecting FCT communities, causing heightened tension, especially after the tragic killing of three abducted victims out of 10 abducted victims due to delayed ransom payment of over N700 million ransom.
