Victor Osimhen has officially completed his move to Galatasaray on a season-long loan from Napoli. The 25-year-old Nigerian striker was seen boarding a private jet to Istanbul with his agent, George Gardi, to finalize the transfer.
The agreement, finalized on Monday, confirms that Osimhen will play for the Turkish club for the entirety of the 2024/2025 season. Galatasaray will cover Osimhen’s full salary during this period, but there is no obligation for a permanent transfer at the end of the loan.
As part of the deal, Osimhen successfully negotiated a reduction in his release clause with Napoli, lowering it from €130 million to €75 million. This new clause could facilitate potential future transfers for the striker. The loan move concludes a prolonged summer transfer saga for Osimhen, who was previously excluded from Napoli’s squad. Although both Chelsea and Saudi Arabian club Al Ahli expressed interest, a transfer to either did not materialize.
Osimhen is set to undergo his medical at Galatasaray’s Ali Sami Yen Stadium on Tuesday, officially concluding his transfer to the Turkish side.
