VGC Chairman, Gihan Mbelu Found Dead in His Car in Lagos

Tragedy struck in Lagos State as Gihan Mbelu, the Chairman of Victoria Garden City (VGC) located in the Lekki-Ajah area, was reportedly discovered dead in his car on Friday, April 26, 2024.
The Lagos State Police Command confirmed the incident, stating that it was reported by the General Manager of the Victoria Garden City Estate.
The 42-year-old Mbelu was found unconscious in his ash-colored C300 4Matic car around 10 a.m. with the ignition on and the vehicle’s windows rolled up in the vicinity of VGC.
Upon receiving the report, police detectives were dispatched to the scene, and Mbelu was immediately rushed to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital for urgent medical attention.
Unfortunately, despite efforts to resuscitate him, Mbelu was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. Subsequently, his remains were deposited at the hospital morgue to undergo preservation and await autopsy procedures.
The Lagos State Police Command has initiated a preliminary investigation into the circumstances surrounding Mbelu’s untimely demise.
While the exact cause of his death remains unknown at this time, authorities have assured the public that further updates on the case will be provided as the investigation progresses.
