Ukraine Targets Key Oil Terminal in Russian-Occupied Crimea Amid Escalating Strikes

Ukraine’s military has claimed responsibility for a missile strike on a large oil terminal in Russian-occupied Crimea, marking the latest in a series of attacks on Russian-controlled energy facilities. The overnight strike targeted the Feodosia terminal, the peninsula’s largest oil processing site.

Russian-installed officials have not confirmed the attack but reported a fire at the facility. No casualties have been announced, but local authorities evacuated 300 people as firefighting efforts continue.

Footage on social media showed smoke rising from the terminal, while Russian officials said 12 Ukrainian drones were shot down in the region.

Ukraine’s military justified the strike, stating that the oil products from the terminal were being used to supply the Russian military. The attack is part of Kyiv’s broader campaign against Russian energy infrastructure, which it says is retaliation for Moscow’s bombardment of Ukraine’s own energy networks.

Meanwhile, Russia launched drones and missiles toward Kyiv, with Ukrainian forces intercepting 32 drones and one missile. However, a Kinzhal missile hit the Starokostiantyniv airfield in Khmelnytskyi, a frequent Russian target due to its alleged housing of Western-donated F-16 fighter jets.

NATO countries have pledged around 65 F-16 jets to Ukraine, with the latest deliveries arriving from the Netherlands this week.
