U.S. Military Strike on Suspected Drug Boat in Caribbean Kills Two

The U.S. military carried out another strike on a vessel suspected of drug trafficking in the Caribbean Sea, killing two people on Monday, officials said.

The operation is part of an ongoing campaign by the administration of Donald Trump targeting what it describes as “narco-terrorism” in Latin American waters. Since the effort began last September, similar strikes have killed at least 188 people across the Caribbean and eastern Pacific regions.

According to U.S. Southern Command, the latest strike targeted a vessel traveling along known smuggling routes. The military released video footage showing the boat before it was destroyed in an explosion.

Despite the ongoing war with Iran, the frequency of these operations has increased in recent weeks, signaling that the administration’s aggressive anti-drug strategy in the Western Hemisphere remains a priority.

However, the military has not provided public evidence confirming that the targeted vessels were carrying drugs, a point that has drawn criticism from legal experts and human rights groups.
