President Bola Tinubu will embark on a three-day state visit to France starting today, Wednesday, December 27, following an invitation from French President Emmanuel Macron. The visit aims to strengthen bilateral relations and explore new partnerships in key sectors, including agriculture, security, education, health, youth empowerment, innovation, and energy transition.
Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, emphasized that the visit will focus on fostering economic and cultural ties between the two nations. “The discussions will include programs to enhance skill development for Nigerian youths, particularly in automation, entrepreneurship, innovation, and leadership,” he said.
During the visit, Tinubu and Macron will engage in political and diplomatic discussions to enhance collaboration in finance, solid minerals, trade, investments, and communication. A major highlight of the visit will be their participation in the France-Nigeria Business Council session, aimed at promoting private-sector contributions to economic growth.
The First Ladies of both nations are also scheduled to meet, with plans to work together on initiatives under the Renewed Hope program, focusing on empowering women, children, and vulnerable groups.
President Tinubu will be accompanied by senior government officials, and the visit is expected to yield valuable benefits for Nigeria, especially in advancing its development priorities.
