President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to defeating banditry and terrorism, declaring that insurgents terrorising Nigerians will be overcome under the leadership of the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.
Tinubu made the pledge on Monday in Yola, Adamawa State, while commissioning projects executed by Governor Umaru Fintiri.
The President commended Ribadu, describing him as “honest, bold, courageous, and committed to the job,” and expressed confidence in his capacity to strengthen national security.
“With you, we will defeat the bandits and terrorists,” Tinubu said. “You are a good National Security Adviser – honest, bold, courageous, and committed to the job. I believe the state of Adamawa is strongly proud of you, of course, I am too.”
The Commander-in-Chief also praised the Armed Forces of Nigeria for their ongoing efforts against insurgency and banditry, pledging continued federal support for security agencies.
“We are grateful to the Nigerian Armed Forces for their commitment to liberating Nigeria from banditry and insurgency. Together, we will win,” he stated.
Tinubu urged governors and citizens to collaborate closely in advancing development and restoring peace across the country.
“We continue to encourage our governors; we will call on citizens to continue to offer them maximum cooperation in developing their states and the country at large. As your leader, I am assuring you of my continuous service and sacrifice. Nigeria is ours to develop. I am a very happy man,” he said.
The President also commended Governor Fintiri for developmental projects undertaken in Adamawa State, while noting Ribadu’s roots in the North-East and recognising his previous service as a retired Assistant Inspector General of Police and former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Tinubu reiterated that under Ribadu’s guidance, Nigeria’s enemies would be flushed out and national stability restored.
