Tinubu Extends NIS CG Kemi Nandap’s Tenure to 2026

President Bola Tinubu has approved an extension of Kemi Nandap’s tenure as Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS).

Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, made the announcement in a statement on Monday.

Nandap, who joined the NIS in 1989, was appointed as the Comptroller-General on March 1, 2024, with her initial tenure set to expire in August 2025. However, her term has now been extended until December 31, 2026.

The statement noted that Nandap’s leadership has brought “significant advancements” to the NIS. President Tinubu commended her exemplary leadership and urged her to continue focusing on the Service’s strategic priorities, which are aligned with his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

“The President reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the Nigeria Immigration Service in fulfilling its mandate to protect Nigeria’s territorial integrity and promote safe, legal, and orderly migration,” the statement read.
