Tinubu: Era of Empty Promises Is Over, We’re Rebuilding Trust with Real Results

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has declared an end to the era of empty promises from public officials, affirming that his administration is focused on delivering tangible results and rebuilding public trust through infrastructure and inclusive governance.

Speaking through Vice President Kashim Shettima at the commissioning of the Aguma Palace Radio Nigeria–New Market Road in Gwagwalada Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Tinubu said the project forms part of a wider effort to transform Abuja under his Renewed Hope Agenda.

“This administration is not just rehabilitating roads we are rehabilitating trust,” Tinubu stated, commending FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for his commitment to infrastructural development in and around the capital.

He described the progress being recorded in the FCT as a “quiet revolution” driven by reforms and people-centered investments. He noted that the expansion of the FCT’s revenue base is now being redirected to critical sectors such as roads, schools, hospitals, and community development.

“For too long, residents outside the city centre have only watched development from afar. Their dreams of inclusion were delayed by shifting priorities and excuses. Today, we are rewriting that narrative,” Tinubu said.

He reiterated that the Renewed Hope Agenda is about bridging the gap between the urban centre and the suburbs, restoring confidence in governance by delivering completed projects not just promises.

“The days of abandoned projects and broken promises are behind us. What we’re building isn’t just infrastructure it’s trust, equity, and belief in a shared future,” the president added.

The event adds to a growing list of infrastructure rollouts in the FCT aimed at promoting equitable development across all area councils, underscoring Tinubu’s commitment to making governance more inclusive and impactful.
