Tinubu Appoints Jega as Presidential Adviser on Livestock Reforms

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Professor Attahiru Jega as the presidential adviser and coordinator for the Presidential Livestock Reforms.

Jega, a former chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), previously served as co-chairman of the Presidential Committee on Implementation of Livestock Reforms in 2024.

The committee was established to address challenges in livestock farming and enhance agricultural productivity. Its mandate includes creating better opportunities for farmers, herders, processors, and distributors within the livestock industry.

President Tinubu has emphasized the importance of modernizing traditional livestock farming methods, stating that collaboration with stakeholders, including state governments, will help improve the sector and drive economic growth.
