President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the constitution of the boards of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and the Universal Service Provision Fund (USPF), both under the Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy.
The announcement was made on Tuesday in a statement by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
Idris Olorunnimbe was named Chairman of the NCC, while Dr Aminu Wada retains his role as Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive Officer a position he was appointed to in October 2023 and confirmed by the Senate in November. Olorunnimbe, a former member of the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) Board, previously chaired its Stakeholder and Governance Committee, where he championed youth employment and entrepreneurship initiatives.
Other members of the NCC board are:

- Hajia Maryam Bayi – Former Director, Human Capital & Administration

- Secretary of the Board
The President also approved the Board of the USPF, with Dr Bosun Tijani, Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, as Chairman.

The USPF was established by the Federal Government to promote universal access to information and communication technologies (ICTs) in Nigeria’s rural, unserved, and underserved communities.
