President Bola Tinubu has appointed Daniel Bwala as Special Adviser on Media and Public Communications at the State House. Bwala, a former ally of opposition leader Atiku Abubakar, was appointed on Thursday, November 14, alongside three other individuals to lead key agencies.
The appointments were announced by Bayo Onanuga, the president’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy. In addition to Bwala, Tinubu appointed Olawale Olopade as Director-General of the National Sports Commission, Abisoye Fagade as Director-General of the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism, and Adebowale Adedokun as Director-General of the Bureau of Public Procurement.
Onanuga highlighted the qualifications of the new appointees. Olopade, a seasoned sports administrator, has previously served as Ogun State’s Commissioner for Youth and Sports and Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee for the 2024 National Sports Festival. Fagade, a marketing communication expert and founder of Sodium Brand Solutions, will bring his expertise to the hospitality and tourism sector. Adedokun, previously with the Bureau of Public Procurement, takes the helm of the agency.
Bwala, a lawyer and respected public affairs analyst, is expected to bring his wealth of experience to the media and communications role. President Tinubu called on the newly appointed officials to serve with dedication, patriotism, and excellence for the benefit of the nation.
