Senate To Announce President Tinubu’s Ministerial List today – Bashir Ahmad

The Senate is expected to reveal the  ministerial list of President Bola Tinubu today, Tuesday, according to Bashir Ahmad, a former aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari.
According to the Nigerian constitution, Tinubu has until July 28 to submit his ministerial list to the Senate for consideration and confirmation.
Speaking on the ministerial list, Ahmad disclosed that all things being equal, the Senate would announce Tinubu’s list today.
The former presidential aide stated this via Twitter on Monday evening.
Ahmad wrote, “Barring any last-minute change,
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu‘s much-anticipated ministerial nominees’ list will be announced by the Senate tomorrow, Tuesday.”
Following changes made by the previous parliament, the constitution now states that the president and governors have 60 days starting on the day they are sworn in to appoint ministers and commissioners.
According to Section 42 of the Constitution, “(a) the nomination of any person to the office of a Minister shall be made within sixty days after the date the President has taken the oath for confirmation by the Senate.”
“(b) not less than ten per cent of persons appointed as Ministers shall be women:
“Provided that the President may appoint a Minister at any other time during his tenure and such appointment shall be subject to confirmation by the Senate.”
The president was sworn into office on May 29.
