President Bola Tinubu is set to return to Abuja on Sunday following a two-week official trip to China and the United Kingdom. The announcement was made on Saturday by Bayo Onanuga, the president’s special adviser on information and strategy.
Tinubu departed Abuja for China on August 29, with a brief stopover in Dubai before arriving in Beijing on September 1. During his stay in China, he met with Chinese President Xi Jinping, where they signed five memoranda of understanding (MoUs) on behalf of Nigeria and China. The MoUs cover various areas, including trade, infrastructural investments, media cooperation, and security improvements. President Tinubu expressed his commitment to replicating China’s infrastructural developments in Nigeria.
After concluding his engagements in China, Tinubu traveled to the UK, where he met with King Charles III. According to Olusegun Dada, the president’s new media aide, the discussion between Tinubu and King Charles focused on climate change and related actions.
