Pizza Delivery Turns Violent: Pregnant Florida Woman Stabbed Over $2 Tip

A shocking incident unfolded in Kissimmee, Florida, where a pregnant woman was stabbed 14 times by a pizza delivery driver allegedly angered by her $2 tip. The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a home invasion and stabbing at the Riviera Motel on December 22, according to an arrest affidavit.

The victim, Melinda Irizarry, was transported to a local hospital after suffering multiple stab wounds to her chest, arms, legs, and abdomen. She underwent emergency surgery for a ruptured lung and is now in stable condition, authorities confirmed in a Facebook update.

Irizarry had placed a $33.10 order with Marco’s Pizza, and delivery driver Brianna Alvelo, 22, arrived at the motel 30 minutes later. When Irizarry handed over a $50 bill and asked for change, Alvelo reportedly refused, citing store policy. After retrieving smaller bills to complete the transaction, Irizarry gave Alvelo a $2 tip, prompting the driver to “roll her eyes and walk away,” according to the affidavit.

Alvelo later returned to the motel room with an unidentified male accomplice armed with a firearm. The duo allegedly forced their way into the room, and the confrontation escalated into violence.

Alvelo has been identified as the primary suspect in the stabbing. The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office has not yet released details about the unidentified male accomplice. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not disclosed the motive behind the extreme reaction to the tip.

This incident has left the local community shaken, as law enforcement officials work to bring justice to the victim and ensure public safety. Irizarry remains in recovery, and her family has requested privacy during this difficult time.
