Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate from last year’s election, has appointed Ibrahim Umar as the new spokesman for the Peter Obi Media Reach (POMR). The announcement was made by the outgoing spokesman, Dr. Yunusa Tanko, in a statement released on Sunday.
Tanko’s new role as the interim National Coordinator of the Obedient Movement prompted the leadership change. Umar, a computer media analyst and graduate of Bayero University Kano (BUK), hails from Wase in Plateau State. He is also a member of the Obi-Datti Media Group and a dedicated Obidient supporter from North Central Nigeria.
In response to his appointment, Umar highlighted that Tanko will now oversee the Obedient Movement’s activities both nationally and internationally. He urged the public to support both Tanko in his new role and the ongoing efforts to challenge what he described as “political criminals” who are impeding progress in Nigeria.
