Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved the nomination of four new commissioner-designates to join the state executive council.
A statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq, listed the nominees as:
· Hon. Nosa T. Adams
· Hon. Yakubu Oshiorenua Musa, JP
· Hon. Felix Ehiguese Akhabue
· Prof. Omorodion Ignatius Ikponmwosa
According to the statement, the nominees bring a mix of expertise across law, agriculture, accounting, and engineering, along with significant experience in public service.
Nosa T. Adams is a lawyer and political activist with a background in Law and Human Resource Management. He previously served as Chairman of Egor Local Government, Special Adviser to a former Edo Governor, and General Manager of Edo State Rubber Estates. He currently heads Nosa Adams & Co and is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).
Yakubu Oshiorenua Musa is an agricultural scientist and philanthropist. A Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants (IMC–Nigeria) and former Chairman of Etsako West LGA, Musa is also a Rotarian and an Eminent Peace Ambassador recognised by the International Association of World Peace Advocates.
Felix Ehiguese Akhabue, a chartered accountant and former ALGON National President, also served as Chairman of Esan West LGA. He has held international leadership roles, including Vice President of the United Cities and Local Governments of Africa (UCLGA) and a board member of the Commonwealth Local Government Forum (CLGF).
Prof. Omorodion Ikponmwosa, an engineer and academic, specialises in Industrial and Production Engineering, with a Ph.D. in Automation and Control. He is affiliated with COREN, the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), and the International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC). He has studied at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, the University of Benin, and Ambrose Alli University.
The statement confirmed that the names have been forwarded to the Edo State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.
